PURPOSE |
The purpose of Al-Anon is to help families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the problem drinking of a relative or friend. Our program of recovery is adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous and is based upon the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and Twelve Concepts of Service. The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Al-Anon is not affiliated with any other organization or outside entity.

NEWCOMERS |
Al‑Anon is a mutual support group for friends and families of alcoholics. Although Al-Anon's primary purpose is to support those impacted by the affects of alcohol, we welcome all those affected by addiction to our meetings. Everyone at the meeting shares about their experience, strength, and hope in living with the problem of alcohol/addiction. We share as equals and we stay focused on the solutions to our problems, not the problem themselves. People volunteer to chair meetings, and the topics for discussion will vary. Al‑Anon recommends that you try at least six different meetings before you decide if Al‑Anon will be helpful to you.

ALATEEN |
Alateen, a part of the Al-Anon Family Groups, is a fellowship of young people (mostly teenagers) whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking whether they are in your life drinking or not. By attending Alateen, teenagers meet other teenagers with similar situations. Alateen is not a religious program and there are no fees or dues to belong to it. District 2 does not currently have an in-person meeting available at this time, but local teens can join a statewide on-line meeting on Mondays and Thursdays at 7 PM. Email [email protected] for more info and meeting details.
